Please see the attached Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
We would like to thank Associate Superintendent of Human Resources, Douglas Staine and Superintendent Inbody for recognizing the inequities that were caused during the Wildfires and drafting this MOU. We appreciate that they continue to foster a collaborative partnership with our Union, USW Local 8599.
The Union requested equitable compensation for all members, not only those members who were allowed to leave after their professional duties were completed on the Minimum Days on 9/12 & 9/13.
If you were not afforded the opportunity to leave early on the days identified, you MUST submit your name to Gloria Becerra in Human Resources Specialist by October 18, 2024, by 3:00pm . You may call Gloria at 909-357-5000 X 29058 or email her at [email protected].
Upon verification, each member will be notified of their status to access the "Wildfire Release Time". You will have until April 30, 2025 to use this Wildfire Release Time. You may use this time in full or in no less than half hour (.50) increments.
Prior approval of the Wildfire Release Time shall be scheduled at the discretion of the Distict, and as nearly as possible at the convenience of the USW Member.
If you were absent on these days with a pre-planned scheduled absence, you shall not have hours reinstated to your accrued leave banks (Vacation, Sick nor Personal Necessity) as applicable.
Make sure to call or email Ms. Becerra TODAY!
