It doesn't get easier, we get STRONGER! We stood together in solidarity at school board meetings and by wearing your union gear on Thursdays. Keep that going!

During the month of June, June 1 - June 30, you have the opportunity to request up to 5 vacation days to be cashed out. The payout will be on July 31. 
Check your Bestnet, you want to make sure that you are at or under,  your 1 (one) year accrual of vacation time. If you are not, you will not have the opportunity to accrue all your vacation time in the next school year. 
Please complete the attached form and send or deliver it to payroll before the close of business on June 30, 2022. 

The Fontana Days Parade was well attended by Locals 8599, 7600, 5632 and 1853. Collectively, we represent over fifteen thousand (15,000) employees in Fontana. 
We chanted the following verses -
Leader said "FONTANA IS" response - "A STEELWORKER TOWN"

The Leader says "WHOS GOT THE POWER?" response -  "WE GOT THE POWER!" Leader said "WHAT KIND OF POWER" response - "UNION POWER!"

Pick up your wristbands for entry into the Solidarity Family Picnic! April 25-May 11, 2022 8:00am - 4:30Ppm at the Union Hall, 16981 Foothill Blvd. Fontana Suite A-1. This is the ONLY way you will be admitted into the picnic. 
Solidarity Family Picnic will be held on Saturday May 14, 2022 from 12:00-4:00 at Jurupa Hills Park (Martin Tudor Park) 11660 Sierra Ave. Fontana. 
There will be tacos, nachos, churros, fruit salad cups, games for the kids a petting zoo, raffles, DJ and karaoke.

Great News Local 8599 Family! All your hard work is going to pay out on May 15, 2022. 8% base salary will be paid retroactively back from July 1, 2021 - May 15, 2022. 
Retroactive on all additional assignments and overtime will still be paid out on August 15, 2022 for the time frame of July 1, 2021 - June 30, 2022. 

Please see the attached **REVISED as of 3/8/2022** Tentative Agreement,  Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the details on offered salary increases and one - time bonus offer. Payouts on salary increase will be paid on August 15, 2022. Bonus will be paid on December 15, 2022.

Mark you calendars, voting on the MOU will be on Tuesday March 15, 2022.

Hello USW Local 8599 Family. Please see the attached flyers for Fontana Adult School. They have great classes. There is an oportunity to enroll (for a nominal fee) in a test prep class for the BSPA Interpreter/Translator test. Also, they offer computer skills classes.
